Ric Rac/Fishbone Cactus

The Ric Rac cactus, also known as Fishbone or Zig Zag cactus, is a pet friendly and easy to care for jungle cactus named after its unique leaf shape. These plants spread out wide with leaves going in all directions, and put out gorgeous big blooms that open and are most fragrant at night. 

Despite the title of “cactus”, jungle cacti should not be treated like your desert cacti. Water when it’s been fully dry for a short while (for an 8” plant, we’re talking 1-2 weeks), but not to the point of the leaves wrinkling or looking dull in color. They can be placed in direct sunlight but cannot tolerate heat beyond 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit, so they are not well suited to living outdoors.
