Waffle Plant

Waffle Plant, or Hemigraphis Alternata, is a compact and colorful pet-safe plant. The name comes from its crimped texture. The plant is dark and almost metallic, and the variegated version sports lavender and light pink segments! 

These plants are medium light and prefer to be moist or living in a high humidity environment. Water when 1/2 or 3/4ths dry, the plant may wilt when dehydrated but should pop back up to normal when watered in time. Avoid direct sunlight. If the plant starts to grow tall with large spaces between the leaves, it needs more light.

Trimming off the tips encourages branching and bushy-ness, compact style plants grow several inches to a foot tall, but naturally branch out and grow primarily in width with age. 

These plants do well in terrariums!
